after all a good day

This weeks racing at Watkins Glen provided a great result even though it nearly ended in disaster, after qualifying in the back of the GT field, I stayed calm in the start to try to read the opposition, and just a couple of laps into the race , the first retirements was a fact.

I had a good clean race over the first stint against a Swedish guy , that I stayed with in a couple of seconds at all times , but towards the end of the stint, he was finally worn down and put it into the wall and I could surf past with ease and pull away , by half way I pitted for fuel and tires , and was by then up to 3 , I could do nothing at the 2 placed car that just had a better pace than me and pulled away half a second pr lap, I had almost the perfect race the opposition considered , but on the last lap I was lapped by a prototype car that through it in to the amco at that last corner on the last lap , and reversed out into my path as I arrived at the scene , with locked brakes, I sailed right in to the side of him , his car was dead on the spot , luckily even though my car was severely damaged but was able to crawl over the line with my 3 place intact
